MORS ONTOLOGICA will be playing Columbus, Ohio's COMFEST 2007 on Saturday June 23rd 2007 @ 6pm on the OFF RAMP STAGE. Please reefer to www.comfest.com for details. In addition we are honored to be performing for LITTLE BROTHERS last show ever with LOVEDRUG and GLORIA STORY. The show is on Monday July 2nd 2007 and is a ticketmaster show. QP makes a final stand! In true fashion with their namesake, (who was never defeated in battle), QUANAH PARKER will be closing a chapter on almost 10 years of music exploration. The band is set to play the weekend on Nov. 4th @ RUBY's in Columbus, OH.

Patrick Donohue of HEROES OF HISTORY aka THE P-DON has released his debut solo effort. Titled "A SHOWER OF KNIVES, SONGS OF DEATH PT. 1", it is available on a limited run of homemade cassettes. The album will be available at all of P-DON's live shows and of course through VERY SMALL SCENE RECORDS.

It's official. The new MORS ONTOLOGICA studio effort, 'DEAD AND/OR FAMOUS' will be available starting June 6th 2006. Recorded at Columbus Discount Recording and mastered by Chris Shepard, the album's 14 songs will be available on compact disc and online. MORS will be playing 2 sets that evening at THE CARABAR in Columbus, OH.

THE BLACK BOX BENEFIT 2006 line-up is complete. This year will feature music by NECROPOLIS, MORS ONTOLOGICA, HEROES OF HISTORY, THE SKILLETLICKERS, A SLIPPING GLIMPSE, THE LINSDAY, plus an acoustic sidestage featuring a number of local Columbus musicains. This years event benefits a very special little girl named Ramona and her family. Your donation at the door helps Ramona in her fight with cancer and will enable you to enjoy the events music, food, and art. This years event will once again be held at Ruby Tuesday in Columbus, Ohio and will take place on Friday May 19th 2006. Also featuring THE OHIO ROLLER GIRLS and local art by Patrick Donahue, Jeff Fernagal, and others.

MORS heads into the studio today to begin work on the full length follow up to 'DONT CRY'. Slotted for completion early 2006, the album 'MORS ONTOLOGICA' will feature 13 all new songs and will be released on CD and of course as a free download.  HEROES OF HISTORY will be hitting the road on Sept 10 w/ MORS for a Cleveland area appearance. In other news THE SPIKEDRVIERS will be playing this years HARVEST JAM with special guest guitarist Steve Sweney.

The anarco-syndicalist racket will start September 10th and run through the 19th (Boston, NYC, NJ, PHILLY, D.C., ATLANTA) More details to come. VSSR welcomes DJ S. The scene unleashes the complete catelouge featuring 'Slanty Street Serenade', 'Spooning Tunes', and 2 NEW albums. This summer will see the release of all 4 on the VSS. MORS ONTOLOGICA -'DONT CRY' has hit the streets. An in-store performance featuring the boys will be @ USED KIDS RECORDS (1980 N. High, Cols, OH) this Saturday the 26th. QUANAH PARKER LIVES!!! Tonight QP will perform at the VSS home away from home, RUBYS (1978 Summit St, Cols, OH). Anyone remember the MORS 'DOWNTOWN' video?? Well we do and it is still in production. Soon Come. This just in: Crow and Drew from MORS will be performing at the RUBY TUESDAY BENEFIT Thursday Jan 13th 2005 around 11pm. The very next night QP makes its triumphant return to Columbus with a split bill with MESCALITO at Club 202. Then on Saturday 1/15/05, MORS makes a 1 year anniversary trip to Cleveland, OH. This show will feature 2 full sets of MORS at the brand new HAPPY DOG (this show is FREE by the way). MORS ONTOLOGICA's new album 'DONT CRY' is currently being pressed and its 1st run of 500 12" vinyl copies will be released on Valentines Day. If you would like to reserve a copy please email jackie@vssrecords.com with your request. There will be a small release party in Columbus at a yet to be disclosed local record haven.

MORS ONTOLOGICA is scheduled to perform Friday December 10th, 2004 @ Little Brothers (Columbus, OH) in conjunction with the release of Workbbok Studio's 24 Bands in 24 Hours compilation. MORS penned and recorded the track 'Disorder' specifically for the comp. Admission will be $10 and includes a copy of the CD. Also soon to be released is a split 7" pairing 'Demon Incubator' by MORS on one side and a NECROPOLIS track on the other. The full length album 'DISORDER' by MORS will be released in early 2005. Additionally, NEVERWAS: The Very Best of NEVERWHERE VOL. 2, new PARIAH and VISCERAL CONFLICT re-mixes, QUANAH PARKER 7" and the video for 'Downtown' from MORS are all scheduled for release in the winter of 2005. Be sure to pick up a copy of 'The Bus' newspaper this December which features a column written by the VSS's own Drew Clasuen.

MORS ONTOLOGICA have headed into the studio! They are recording the follow up to their debut EP release 'Telemetric Action'. The new EP tentatively titled "AVAST!" will be available at the beginning of 2005. Also, MORS ONTOLOGICA has been asked to contribute a song to Workbook Studios 24 BANDS/24 HOURS compilation. MORS has chosen to pen a new song called "Disorder". 24/24 will be released December 10th with a release show @ Little Brothers in Columbus, OH. Stay tuned for more info!

Percussionist Johnny "Starrcatt" Polansky in conjunction with DMPD and VSSRecords.com will premier "WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS" a short film @ THE BLACK BOX 2004 this Friday and Saturday October 1st and 2nd @ RUBY's in Columbus, Ohio. The showing will happen prior to MORS ONTOLOGICA taking the stage on Saturday evening. All proceeds for the event benefot 90.5 WCBE FM.

VSSRecords.com and Ruby Tuesdays (1978 Summit St. Cols, OH) will host this years BLACK BOX BENEFIT for 90.5 WCBE on Friday October 1st and Saturday October 2nd 2004. Local talent includes The Spikerdrivers, Quanah Parker, Mors Ontologica, A Modest Proposal and many more. A full two day line-up along with free mp3s and band bios may be found at www.vssrecords.com. The event will brings together an eclectic mix of local music as well as grassroots activism featuring organizations such as Music for America, The Sierra Club, and HeadCount.org. A free barbeque will be provided featuring food from Wild Oats and Clintonville Community Market. This selection will be vegetarian friendly.

Holy Hammocks it's fall already! Prepare for the onslaught of the VSSR- i.e. We are very proud to be starting the VSS ROCK WEDNESDAY SERIES @ THE BLUES STATION (www.bluestation.net) in Columbus, Ohio. Every week will feature a different mix of VSS bands with other regional talent. It all starts September 29th! Then just 3 days later we unveil THE BLACK BOX 2004. This years event will once again benefit WCBE 90.5 FM for their outstanding support of underground music (and good music for that matter). As this years event is two days, each day will provide it's own theme and feel, and there will be wristbands that allow you to get in on both nights. We are pleased to announce our first shows in the Cleveland, Ohio area. January 16th and 17th 2004 will mark VSS RECORDS first record release event of the year.
